Situated 175 kms from Prague, is
the town of Cesky Krumlov. It is a small and beautiful town in the South
Bohemia region of Czech Republic. Cesky Krumlov is located on the banks of
Vltava River, and was built below a magnificent Castle founded in the 13th
century. The Bohemia region is in south western part of Czech Republic, close
to the Austrian and German borders. The drive to Cesky Krumlov is very scenic.

Cesky Krumlov is a small and tiny
place. The place can be explored only by
foot. The design is a little similar to Venice. It takes about 5-6 hours to
fully explore the town. This shows how small the place is. Main attractions
include Cesky Krumlov Castle, Main Square, Old Town, Vltava River and Castle
Gardens. Many tour companies organise guided walking tours which are very good.
As Cesky Krumlov is a 2-hour drive from Prague, tourists explore it in a day
without booking any Hotels. Cesky Krumlov has a sense of vibrancy that come from
a mix of locals and a lot of tourists. It is a quiet, Breath-taking and
relaxing excursion for all tourists.
Cesky Krumlov has a few
restaurants and cafes. Mostly they serve Czech or European food. It’s hard to
find any Asian or American Restaurant here. Tourists are thus advised to
experience the delicious Czech Food here.
Some Restaurants are located near the River, and give you a refreshing
feel of Nature while you enjoy your meal. Some restaurants are in the Main
Square, also serving European Food. Though all restaurants serve European Food,
some of them have a few Asian and American dishes in their Menu. For a short
trip of 5-6 hours, Food is good here.
Small European towns are not at
all for shopping. The place is just to enjoy some time in the lap of nature.
There are some small and tiny Boutique shops and retailers with souvenirs and collectables.
You can purchase one if you want, but don’t waste time in shopping. This place
is a like a refreshing break from city life. Don’t expect any big branded
showrooms out here. Most of the shops are owned by locals. Thus, engage in
shopping only when you have fully explored the place. Instead of shopping, you
should spend time clicking photographs of the scenic beauty. Photographs will
be the best memory of the Town.
Getting to Cesky Krumlov is quite
easy. You can either drive, take a Bus or travel by train. The European Rail and Bus system connects the
town with all the European countries. For those coming from other Continents,
Prague is the nearest International Airport. Cesky Krumlov has been recently
discovered as a Tourist spot. The word is spreading day by day, and tourists
are flooding into the city. It is something very Unique and different, after
visiting Cesky Krumlov, we can say that Small European Towns are much more
beautiful than the European cities.
