City of Theme Parks : Orlando

Orlando is centrally located in the state of Florida.  It has the Atlantic Ocean to the East, and the Gulf of Mexico in the west.  With over 2 million people, Orlando is Americas 3^rd largest metropolis.  Orlando is one of world’s most Action and Fun Filled cities. Famous for its Theme Parks, it gives children and adults quality time to spend.  It is the place where imagination runs wild.   Each year 50 million tourists visit Orlando for a fun filled holiday.   The city has a lot of sculpture gardens, Botanic Gardens, Art Museums and Inner city attractions as well. Though, most of the tourists come for its Theme Parks. Orlando is thus a blend of fun, action, attractions and entertainment. The city has so much to offer that even a week for it is less. With several famous Theme Parks, Orlando has developed itself into a popular tourist destination.

Getting around Orlando is easy. Public transport is good enough to take you around the city. You could also walk around some of the places. Main attractions include Lake Eola park, The Mall at Millenia, Canaveral National Seashore, Kennedy Space Station(NASA), Leu Gardens, Winter Park and Universal  Orlando Resort. The Famous Theme Parks in Orlando include Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Universal Island Adventure,  EPCOT Centre, Sea World, Wet n Wild, Volcano Bay Islands of Adventure, Magic Kingdom, Discovery Cove, Old Town etc. Though Theme Parks will keep you engaged, but if you have time, do visit NASA. NASA is an hour drive from the city, near the Canaveral Seashore. Orlando has a Tropical climate all-round the year, making all months suitable for Holiday.

Food is big Business here. A lot of Restaurants, Bars and Nightclubs are spread all around the city. The Mall of Millenia and Winter Park are the best places for food. A host of Asian, American and European cuisines are available here. As tourists from all over the world land here, it has attracted many International Restaurants and Bars. You will thus enjoy the food culture here. Look out for the famous Bars and Nightclubs as well. They have Star performances and Concerts held at many times.

Shopping is good in Orlando. The most famous items are souvenirs of Walt Disney Characters. Besides, tourists also purchase souvenirs from other Theme Parks as well.  The Mall of Millenia is the most famous place for shopping in Orlando. It accommodates many Local and International Brands and Retail Stores. You may find shopping expensive at a few places, but still you can get reasonably priced items. Hence, shop only when required otherwise better concentrate on Theme Parks.

Getting to Orlando is easy. Rail/Road network is robust enough to connect you with other US cities. Flying from Canada is easy and convenient. If you are travelling from other continents, some Airlines fly directly to Orlando. Orlando Airport is not as busy as JFK in New York or SFO in San Francisco, but a few flights could be found. American Airlines, Delta, United, West Jet, British Airways, Lufthansa and Emirates have regular flights to Orlando.
